Case Dismissed Ex Parte in the Face of Covid-19 Order ?

Writer: Alex BakerAlex Baker

Judge Samanatha P. Jessner now dismissed by 5-year old civil fraud case, on the eve of a jury trial, after an ex parte motion on March 20, 2020. As noted in the below timeline, this was on a day where court was open only to essential and emergency functions. Really? It's absolutely improper to bring a motion to dismiss on an ex parte basis anyway, but doing it on a day when court was shut down? Really? I have to try to overturn this?
